What Is Weebly?
Weebly is a very user friendly website building platform that allows anyone without any website building knowledge to build a great website. You can choose to create your own unique personal website, blog, or online store. Its drag and drop feature makes it quick and easy to build your website and get it up and running in less than an hour.
I first came across Weebly three years ago when I was looking for a website builder to create a my own personal website. I didn’t have any technical experience in web design at all. So when I signed up to Weebly for a free account to check it out, I played around with the tools that they have and eventually designed a nice website that met my expectations.
Weebly has changed over the years and have made many improvements that I am proud of. But one of the best things about this website building platform is that it’s so easy to use, especially for beginners. They have options where you can upgrade to a paid service if you want more features, especially if you are running a business online, such as an online store.
Build A Free Website First
Usually I would start of with building my website for free first, and then decide to upgrade later once I have created my basic layer or design and added certain features on it. The free option also provides many tools to build a functional website, so some people actually stay on the free service. But it all depends on what the real purpose is for creating your website.
I have placed a table of Weebly’s pricing below for your convenience. It shows you what kinds of features you’ll get from the Free option to the premium options. If you are serious about selling products on your website, you should choose the Business option as it will give you much more features, such as, unlimited products that you can list on your website and an integrated shopping cart on your domain.
A Sneak Peak Inside Weebly
Let’s have a look at what happens once you sign up for your free account. I have created a test site called ‘My Site’ and snapshots of what you’ll see inside weebly.
You will be asked to choose what type of site you are creating, whether it would be a site, blog or store. I have chosen to create a Store website for My Site.
Then you will be asked to choose your website domain.
1) CHOOSE YOUR WEBSITE DOMAIN
2) DESIGN YOUR WEBSITE
My site looks like this! It is now ready to be designed the way you want.
